Water Technology

CUTTING EDGE AQUACULTURE

Atlas Aquaculture designed a water system that employs science, engineering and technology to create an environment where our fish can thrive and waste is minimised. We are able to implement our system in any farms in the world. If you’re interested to explore partnership with us, let's have a chat.

1. Tank
This is where our fish live and play. We maintain the best water quality for them to thrive and grow.

2. Filtration System

Our state of the art filtration systems comprise of various water conditioning components that maximise biosecurity, while keeping the water clean and healthy. Simply put, these systems can be broken up into two main loops, each with a unique, and very important task:

a. Biological Loop

This loop is the most important part of our filtration. The Biological Loop is designed to house some of nature's very own beneficial bacteria, which consume fish waste and convert it into harmless bi-products.

b. Mechanical Loop
To keep the tanks clean and tidy, we employ the use of mechanical filtration. The mechanical loop removes solid waste such as fish discharge and uneaten food before it has the chance to breakdown into unwanted and potentially harmful waste.

3. Backwash Recovery
This system has been specifically designed with sustainability in mind. As mentioned above, the mechanical filtration removes all of the solids from the tanks. These filters have their limits though, and require regular maintenance to operate optimally. This maintenance is known as Backwashing. This process is typically where operators discard their waste water, opting to introduce "new" water into the system. Our backwash recovery system captures this water, cleaning it thoroughly, before transferring it to a storage tank, where it is ready to be used again in a never ending cycle.

4. Solid Waste Treatment
All of the processes listed above require assistance from this system. Solid waste slowly builds up across all of these functions, and without the proper treatment, can have a serious affect. Using biodegradable compounds, we bind up the solid waste and extract it from the water column. Once extracted, this product is distributed to the agriculture sector as a powerful fertiliser.

5. Storage
Our storage contains both brackish and salt water, which we will dispense accordingly to maintain optimum salinity for our fish.
